The license Before the SRE to Buy Property in Mexico

The License

Before you sign any purchase agreement or obtain a property deed, you must procure a document. This is the first license you need in order to complete your investment. It ‘s called Permiso para Adquisición de Inmuebles fuera de la Zona Restringida

The SRE (Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores) is the government office that issues it. This office is going to request some documents from you.

This format is provided by the SRE. It’ll require you to include data about your identity and the property such as:

  • Your name or that of your legal representative.
  • Condition of Residence
  • Migratory document number 
  • An official address to send you notifications.
  • Location and description of the property. 
  • Payment method and share.

Office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Mexico City. 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. is the option for you to visit the regional offices. 

Costs and Duration of Tramit

For this year, 2023, SRE has actualized payment for issuing this document. The cost is around to $4640.00 pesos. The estimated time is calculated to five business days.
